Dr Michael Madden: Research

I lead the Machine Learning / Data Mining Group at NUI Galway. Some members are also members of the Enterprise Computing Research Group and the Computational Intelligence Research Group.

We collaborate on some projects with the National Centre for Biomedical Engineering Science in NUI Galway.

My research interests include:

• Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) techniques

• Machine Learning algorithms, including Rule Learners, Neural Networks, Support Vector Machines and Probabilistic approaches

• Bayesian Networks for Classification

• Reinforcement Learning

• Genetic Algoirithms and Genetic Programming

• 'Real-World' Applications of Machine Learning

• Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery in Databases
